Niji40: Acrobatica, silver medal at the finishline, brings home the speed record. Fornaro and Influence2 sixth

After 14 days of Atlantic navigation, at 4:04 in the morning on April 22nd Acrobatica reached Marie Galante in Guadeloupe, crossing the finish line of the Niji40 second.

There were 14 days of racing and battle with an Atlantic once again in tough conditions, but the Acrobatics team, with Alberto Riva at the helm, and teammates Jean Marre and Benjamin Schwartz, demonstrated that they knew how to stand up to the Ocean and the other Class40.

The accident at the last Transat Jacques Vabre had forced Riva to abandon the regatta, but the Niji40 finally brought the young skipper into the limelight and the headlines, and not only for the final result, but also for the new record achieved: Acrobatica, Musa40 number 3 launched by Sangiorgio Marine, can in fact boast of having sailed 433 miles in 24 hours, thus setting the new speed record.

Andrea Fornaro’s Influence2 was also on the finish line at this first Niji40: sixth place for him and his crew on board Musa40 number two.
